INTRODUCTION

The future Cultana Reversible Hydropower Station (SPHES) is located near Port Augusta in South Australia. The power station is designed as a reversible power station, and is capable of supplying and regulating the electricity generation system. The plant consists of two 1.3 km, 4.2 m diameter penstocks and a surface installation.
