Mechanical simulation of bone-implant interaction

PROJECT DETAILS

  • Client: Seville Dentists Foundation
  • Date: 2017-2024
  • Technology: biomechanics, finite elements, simulation, subroutines

INTRODUCTION

ICEMM has been collaborating with the Fundación de Dentistas de Sevilla since 2017 in the research for the improvement of dental implants to increase the comfort of use, reducing the interaction stresses between bone and implant and at the same time reducing the possible rejection by the patient.

ACTIVITIES

  • Definition of finite element models of bone-implant interaction.
  • Development of constitutive models of bone regeneration.
  • Fatigue tests on implants

Implant-Bone Interaction Stress State. Bone loss due to bruxism overloads.
